Well, I think I have the photo uploading figured out. Had to reinstall my software. So I have some pics to post, which I will do soon. But I have schoolwork due tomorrow, and I go back to work also tomorrow, so I'm not sure when I will get them up. It is just pics from some manis I did, and some polishes and makeup that I bought or won this last month. Nothing too exciting, but fun for me. : P
So, I will get that stuff up soon. Hopefully once I get back to work and get into a schedule with work and school (and blogging), my posts will be less sporadic, and more structured. Most likely I will have weekly posts or maybe like some blogs I've seen, have certain days for certain posts. I think I'm gonna start with "On Wednesdays we wear pink" Uh, next week, lol. OK< well thanks for putting up with me, and soon I will be able to quit apologizing, and just get on with posting! >.<
Pages
I am new to blogging and somewhat awkward, and don't know what to write. I love pretty things, like to see nail art and makeovers and such. I do intend to actually post my manicures as my skills improve with nail art and such, I might even start posting pics. But these will probably be sporadic and even pathetic attempts while I learn so ... Bear with me please. :)

Checking In
I'm still here. Just been a busy week. Trying to enjoy the last of the summer before school starts here again. Then I will be back at work, and I just enrolled in some college myself, so I may be pretty busy after this. I still enjoy reading every one else's log, just don't have time to write in my own. Hopefully soon I will. Right now I have to go do some stuff for school.
A little while ago I won a makeup set from Mistura, it included a "6-in-1" compact, some skin moisturizer and vitamin E lipstick. The 6-in-1 is supposed to work as a foundation, concealer, bronzer, blush, lip color and eye color. But I just use it as a bronzer (since I didn't have any bronzer). Now I'm fairly new to not only nail polish/art, but makeup as well. I just didn't have anyone around to teach me. So I learned everything off beauty blogs and youtube videos. We had our first meeting for work after being out for a few months, and for the first time I went with full makeup. I had used foundation, concealer, everything. I just bought Wet 'n' Wild's I'm getting sunburned, so I used that for my eyeshadow, Some pretty light lip gloss for my lips, and I used Mistura as the bronzer. First person who saw me at the meeting said, "Your skin is beautiful. Very peaches and cream, you must be eating something right." And I kept getting compliments the rest of the day, too. In all honesty, I have been eating healthier, and I have been slimming down, but I know most of it is from the makeup. I was really nervous wearing full makeup, 'cause as I said, I've learned everything on my own, and even though all those girls make it look so easy on their blogs and videos, it's not that easy for me. I have no experience, no creativity, bad decorating skills/color coordinating, and even worse hand-eye coordination, lol. All that makes for a bad combination when trying to look good in makeup. So as I said I was really nervous about my makeup. Even with my husband saying it looks pretty, etc, cause you know he HAS to say that. :)
Anyway, so my makeup project went well. I may have to wear my makeup everyday now. That is a big step for me. :P So besides my makeup, I also got compliments on my nails. I went with a simple polka dot, using a couple browns from Sinful Colors (Nirvana and Mercury Rising), and Seashell from LA Colors. I used Nirvana as a base coat and Mercury Rising and Seashell for dots, switching to Mercury Rising for base and Nirvana and Seashell as dots for my ring finger on each hand. It looked really pretty. I do have pics, but as I said before, for some reason I can't upload pics right now. As soon as I can I will figure out what is going on with my camera and the whole uploading thing, but for now I have to jet again.

So sorry...
I haven't been blogging, mostly because I am having a little bit of trouble with my camera uploading the pics. I will have some uploaded here in a few days (I hope). I have a very old and slow computer, and it can get a bit finicky, so I have to figure out what the heck the problem is this time. >.<
So I am sorry that I haven't had many non-giveaway posts, it wasn't my intention to let the giveaway posts exceed my non-giveaway posts, but hopefully you guys probably don't mind. : )
There have also been some other problems besides the technical, which I hope to have fixed by the time I get my camera fixed, then I can get back on track.
But I have explained before I am terribly shy and I have a hard time figuring out what I want to write. This blog is supposed to help me with that, but I just haven't gotten past my embarrassed/shy stage yet. Hopefully the more I write, the better it will be. The nails are a stepping stone... easier to post pics then talk, right? So, it is my baby steps towards communicating more. It helps to visit other blogs, but then I've always preferred reading over talking. So once again, for the gazillionth time, bear with me. :P

I Love Getting Packages in the Mail...
I'm sure everyone does. But it is even better when it is a long awaited(well, it seemed long) package of polish! Well, I was lucky enough to win TraceFacePhile's Giveaway for Nicole by OPI Target Exclusives!! I am so happy! Really, it was a very short wait, she sent them out so quickly, but you know how it is when you're excited! So, I got them in the mail today, 12 polishes, and I can't wait to play with them. They were packaged so prettily! In pink bubble wrap and pink zebra(tiger?) print tape. I love pink.... so I took pics of them right out of the box, and will post them as soon as I can. It will probably have to be tomorrow, I'm running short on time.
Anyway, if you get a chance and haven't made it over to Trace's blog, be sure to get over there soon! She is a very nice person, and I love her blog! I loved it before the giveaway, and would love it even if I hadn't won. The awesome polishes are just an added bonus. :)

Mario Mushrooms
This was for my son. He loves Super Mario, and I came across someone's nails that reminded me of the powerups in Mario. So I used my new dotting tool to help me make some Mushroom Nails. I didn't want them all one color, and I didn't have all the right colors, so I improvised, and just made them colorful. Of course, the first thing my son said (after being told they weren't ladybugs, they were Mario mushrooms)was: there's no mushrooms that color in Mario. Ah, well, it was fun to do anyway, lol. Here they are flipped for a better visual:
As you can see, I did not tape it off, it's freehand, and since all my nails are different length, they aren't very uniform in shape. Also, once again, this is before my cleanup. But other than that, they look great right, lol. Don't be too hard on me, remember I'm a beginner.

Pink Wednesday... Sort of
Sort of, because it's not all pink, and it's from Sunday. But it has pink, and I'm still wearing it, so that counts, right? Since there's no one here to argue the point, I'm gonna say I'm right, lol.
So this is the manicure from my first stamping and dotting experience. It was my VERY first dotting and stamping experience, and I blame all you experienced nail artists once again for making it look easier than it is. Oh, I know it will be simple once I get practice. But it's one of those things that sounds like a first timer can do it with no worries.
Anyway, my story about the stamping and subsequent "cover-up" is in a previous post, so if you want the long version, go there. This is the post with the pics I said I wouldn't be taking or posting. :) I really wasn't going to, but I guess I can't keep a picture diary of my experiences and honing of skills, (and hopefully my improvement) if I don't post all my attempts, right? Again, no one here to argue, so I'm assuming that I'm right again, lol.
If you are offended by amateur nail art, look away. : P
So the first four are my messing around with the stamp and dotting tool. I wasn't really planning on keeping the nails painted with this, just wanted to play with my new tools. On my left thumb I tried using a pastel green to stamp first, but it was too light, so I switched to black. And stamped a flower on everything but my ring fingers, which were stamped with a butterfly. Then since the stamps were all crooked and uneven, I decided to mess around with the dotting tool. I figured I was going to take it all off anyway, might as well practice my dots.
The last four, I taped off the nail above the stamps and painted it with black. I left part of the pink and black dots. Since the stamps were all in different spots on my nails, my nails aren't all evenly striped. If you look closely at a couple of fingers, you can even see some of the stamp peeking out. But I thought it looked good enough for my first try, and my husband liked it, so I kept it on for a while. I LOVE the colors, and its the first mani I topped with Seche Vite, so I left it on to see how well Seche Vite works. Its been at least 4 days, and still look goo. (uh, condition wise, not skill, lol). I am about to change them again, and maybe if I get around to doing it today I will do a real "Pink Wednesday". : P
